Hello

My blog is now in development. It isn’t as easy as I thought it would be setting this thing up, so it’s taking me longer than I anticipated. Two years longer.

OK, I’ll be honest, I laid off after a while when I first engaged in the whole concept of these blog things, but after seeing some inspiring blogs on the Fell Runners Association forum, I thought that I would give it another go. So thanks for kicking me up the shunter fellow FRA bloggers and, it must be said, a cracking post idea by dan.

My intention is to embed some of my videos on here along with photos and fell/hill related material. I’m currently working on some new projects, which I hope will be of interest to some people. Not all of them will be completely fell/hill running compatible, but will hopefully be in some way associated.

My latest project involves making a film or two for trail runner Philip Sheridan. Phil is a blade runner, who unfortunately lost his right leg in a motorbike crash back in 2002 (Friday 13th of September). He intends to run the Dalesway in three days to mark what he calls his tenth birthday, starting on the 13th of September 2012. He also intends to raise funds for charity. I’m really looking forward to spending time with Phil. He’s a true inspiration.

There are a few of us working on making a Winter Hill film, which we are going to put together after next year’s race. We got quite a lot of footage this year, so it’s going to be a compilation of footage taken over two races. Normally I film on my own, but I had the idea (planted I think by Colin Jones, the race organiser) to team up with a few others to see what kind of varying footage we could get. It certainly is varied. The conditions on the day contributed to that.
